Press Release

The first national Stakeholders’ Forum was organized by TITAN and held on Friday 17th October 2008 at the Group’s Kamari plant. Among those attending were clients, employees, suppliers, shareholders and representatives of local government, civil society and the academic community.

This first Forum represents a new and innovative initiative by TITAN, part of its endeavours to foster dialogue with stakeholders on issues concerning the natural and social environment.

The purpose of the Forum, apart from a wish to brief stakeholders on the CSR and sustainable growth priorities and practices being implemented by Titan, was also to allow an exchange of views and ideas for further improvements in performance.

Participants had been sent briefing papers before the Forum with material on Group positions and objectives over the last three years, and during the proceedings representatives of the Group’s administration and managers filled in the details of various Group activities and initiatives.

The presentations were followed by open discussion and exchange of views. Participants showed a keen interest in the proceedings, and the conclusions reached and proposals made enjoyed broad acceptance.

The conclusions drawn by the Forum will form a basis for development of future Group strategy and practices.
